Angels and Demons Tour has partnered up with SONY PICTURES organizing tours for the winners of a contest in occasion of the premiere and release of the movie in May 2009.

Angels and Demons, the Movie

The movie Angels and Demons (146 minutes) follows Dan Brown's book, Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) rushes in a rapid pace through Rome and the Vatican in search of the Altars of Science. He is aided by the beautiful Vittoria (Ayelet Zurer), who unlike Dan Brown's book is not being kidnapped by the mysterious killer. There are more interesting differences of book and movie which our authorized Rome guide will point out during our Angels and Demons tours.

Filming in Rome

The Angels and Demons movie -directed by Ron Howard- was shot in Rome (June 2008) and the Sony Pictures Studio’s in California. In Rome scenes were filmed on Piazza Rotonda (Pantheon), Piazza Navona, near the Angel´s Castle and along the Tiber River as well as in some other very special locations we will visit on our Angels and Demons Tour.
Angels and Demons was the ninth highest grossing film of 2009 with a turnover of almost half a billion dollar worldwide. Except of in the United States the movie was especially a big hit in Spain, Brasil, United Kingdom, Russia and Germany – all countries our enthusiastic guests are coming from.

Reviews on the movie

The Angels and Demons movie was received well by critics and moviegoers. Some reviewers applauded the fact that filmmakers corrected location errors in the novel. The Internet Movie Database gives the film a 6.7. The official Vatican newspaper L´Osservatore Romano has called the film "harmless entertainment" which can be considered a positive review by this Vatican hold newspaper.
